5 Manhattan cafes where you can actually study
This was a great article! In this article it went over five places that are great for studying. For each place they paired it with something that you may want. For example, If you need tons of table space they recommend Barnes and Noble Cafe, or if you want a sweet treat during your study session they recommend Ole & Steen. I loved this, it is such a great way to give students ideas on where to go and have a little bit of inspiration to go out and study.
TEDxNYU speaker Sophia Domonoske highlights gender disparity in figure skating
In this article the NYU figure skating president spoke about her experiences. During her talk she talked about how her coach would scold her for her diet, even though she was eating healthy She was also criticized for what she wore. She called out male partners who degraded the girls, but coaches excuse their behavior by arguing that they needed them more than they needed the girls. It was clear to see the disparity. Domonoske gave a great quote saying “No one pays attention to the guy, only the girl,” Domonoske said. “Us girls have to be perfect all the time — boys can just be.” She talks about how the sport is mainly female dominated and they are still fighting the judgement. This was a great article on feminism and the comparison between men and women in figure skating.
